Ibrahim Barrie Jr. was among a group who got a ride from the 18-year-old victim, an acquaintance, to a parking lot on the 14200 block of Smoketown Road in Woodbridge around 5:55 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, county police said.
"At one point, [Barrie] and another man from the group chased the victim to the median area of Smoketown Road where he was tackled," police said. "During the encounter, the suspects struck the victim and took his phones, wallet, and keys before a Good Samaritan intervened to separate the parties."
The suspects ran back to the victim’s vehicle and fled the area. The victim reported minor injuries.
While investigating the incident, officers found the vehicle unoccupied in the area of Westminister Lane. During the investigation, officers identified the accused as Barrie and obtained arrest warrants.
The investigation continues as detectives attempt to identify the other suspects and find Barrie.
